T-Shirt Fundraiser

Image
You may be seeing several of these types of posts in the coming days as we work hard to bring in funds for our adoption. Right now we are just starting our t-shirt fundraiser. Nathan and I love this t-shirt design, and we hope you do to! We're doing this fundraiser with the help of Fund the Nations , a t-shirt company that does shirts specifically for fundraising efforts or group events (youth group, camp, etc.). My goal is to sell 100 shirts!!! This would help us raise around $1,000 for our adoption! Below you'll find all the specifics for the shirt and ordering. Brand: Bella Canvas (that means super soft and comfy!) Color: Dark Grey Heather Sizes: Youth XS-L, Adult XS-4XL Cost: $20 each (add $2 for 2XL and up) Shipping: $5 flat rate shipping up to 10 shirts (Free delivery/pick up for locals) Ordering Deadline: January 30th To place your order online, click here We will place one large order for all the shirts after the deadline of January 30th February 1st. Treasure & Heart Designs

I've talked to some people individually, but I wanted to give an update on our adoption status currently. We applied to an agency last April and found out in May that we were denied. The two reasons being finances and some health issues (treatable/fixable). I was devastated of course, but not completely surprised. Both of these issues we knew could be potential issues but were hoping and praying that they wouldn't be. We decided that this did not mean a closed door, just one of the many bumps along this journey. Over the past several months, the health issue has been resolved, and we have been working to save as we can and pay some bills. We plan to apply with the same agency again after our next tax return. If the second application doesn't go as planned, we are already prayerfully considering other options such as U.S. adoptions, but feel that we should continue the South Korea route unless that door becomes closed. Also in the meantime I have been working on som...

A Big Thank You

Image
Nathan and I would like to give a huge "Thank You" to all those that helped make this weekend a success! Both local community members and church friends were very supportive by making their purchases of our caramel popcorn at the Bethel Sheep Festival (and at church :)). It was especially a huge blessing when complete strangers would find out the reason for our selling the popcorn and give us a "keep the change" or a couple that just made a small donation without purchasing anything. We are so blessed to have people surround us and be so supportive in our endeavor. We have been able to continue our small start to our adoption fund. If you especially enjoyed our caramel popcorn and would like to place an order at some point, maybe for a party, special occasion, or just because you like it, check out my "Popcorn for Adoption" page at the top. Just to put a reminder out there, again for the locals, we are having our garage sale on September 12-13 in Shel...

Popcorn, Popcorn, Get Your Popcorn!

Image
We are officially on our way to our first adoption fundraiser! As in, we've made our first 10 bags of popcorn for the fundraiser. This fall we will be selling our delicious homemade caramel popcorn, thanks to Nathan's dad's amazing recipe. Of course the delicious part is my personal opinion, but we've received good reviews so far from those that have been able to sample it. Our first stop for selling this popcorn is coming up this weekend, August 30-31, at the Bethel Sheep Festival in Bethel, MO. We will have our own stand where we will be selling this homemade popcorn and lemonade shake-ups. If you live in the area, stop by on Saturday or Sunday and grab a bag. We will also be selling our popcorn at all the HCA volleyball and basketball home games this season, so if you aren't able to make it to the festival, you can catch us at the games. If anyone would have any other great ideas of where we could or should sell our popcorn this fall, send them my way! Fun...

Catching Up

Image
It's been a while since I've posted, and a lot has happened since then. My wonderful husband graduated with his Master's degree from Liberty Theological Seminary (so proud of you honey!) and he and I made a trip out to Virginia for the graduation ceremony. It was like a second honeymoon! We took our kiddos to Branson for a whole week and got to see my brother and sister-in-laws family. My parents, sister, and other brother were there also. I don't think I could ever get tired of family time. I don't think we've ever taken a week-long vacation with the kids. It was amazing! My little man turned 5, and he is PROUD of it! He starts kindergarten on Monday  (my kids go to a year-round school). Nathan and I "celebrated" our 9th anniversary. He happened to be out of town that day, but I think the honeymoon trip to Virginia makes up for that. I the midst of all of these activities were t-ball games... lots of them! :) And we jus...
